It’s time for a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! This week’s Challenge #123 is themed TAGS!

For today’s card, I CASED one of my old cards that I loved for its simple tag. I used a new embossing folder and rounded corners for a more “tag” feel. I chose LMMS image – Jr. Hatter Vironda for my card (I know that is a zebra hat, but I decided that it is of a mystical zebra in cotton candy colors haha…hey you sometimes got to color it to match the background right?). LMMS Jr. Hatter VirondaI combined this challenge with another Hope You Can Cling To Challenge. HYCCT1510 Tag Your it! With some fun foam(for dimension), ribbon, and buttons, a homemade tag is pretty simple and a fun touch to any card!

Recipe:

  • Image: Jr. Hatter Vironda digi stamps from LMMS
  • Sentiment: Sending Smiles Technique Tuesday
  • Paper: White card stock (PTI), Hot Pink Cardstock (Recollections), Hawaiian Shores Cardstock (PTI)
  • Ink: Image – Copics – W1, W3, W5,(shoes) E42, E43, E44, E47 (jeans), B95, B97, B99 (hat/shoes) RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29, BG11, BG13, BG15, (hair) E30, E33, E35, E37, (skin) E00, E02, E11, E21 (sentiment) Versafine Onyx black
  • Other: Rectangle dies (Spellbinders), Fun Foam, Ribbon, Buttons, Twine

This week’s challenge tWist at From the Heart Stamps is to use the STITCHING. I love to see cards with this technique, but it is harder to sew a straight line than it should be (maybe it’s just me)… BUT I tried it and here it is!

My card uses a birthday image called Five Party Birds. They are sooo cute!FTHS Five Party Birds

This card is also for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge HYCCT1507 – Trash Cancer. We were to use the word T-R-A-S-H to include elements in your card that begin with each letter. So here we go:

  • T – Tape (Washi that is)
  • R – Red Enamel dot
  • A – Alcohol Ink R20, R21, R22, R24, Y04, Y06, Y08, Y26, YR23, YR24, YR15, BG0000, BG10, BG11. BG13, E40, E42, E43

Polka Dot Hug!

Badge for SidebarHow about a quick bit of mid-week inspirations in the form of a Little Miss Muffet Stamp called Polka Dot Pals Petunia.LMMS Polka Dot Pals Petunia copyI had a lot of trouble coming up with background paper for this one because I colored her first – I thought I had the perfect thing then it didn’t work out. That happens sometimes so I pulled it all apart and went back to the drawing board. Do you ever have to do that??

I grabbed some textured watercolor paper (Hobby Lobby brand – Love it for its white color and fun textured side) I laid out a couple sizes of stitched circle dies (Simon Says Stamps) and cut random circles. Then I cut circles from other cardstocks and fitted them into the holes – It turned out a little more simple than I planned, but I am ok with it 🙂

This cutie is also for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge HYCCT1501B – Lend a Hand (You had to use an image with a hand in it – I thought the way she was holding her hands was sweet and sincere like she would help you with anything – did I read to much into a stamp?)

Recipe:

  • Image: Polka Dot Pals Petunia digi by Little Miss Muffet Stamps
  • Sentiment: Simple Sentiments – Inky Antics
  • Paper: White (Papertrey Ink) Watercolor (Hobby Lobby), Scraps
  • Ink: Copics Skin E50, E51, E53, E02, Hair E33, E35, E37, E39, E19, Dress RV23, RV25, RV29, Apron B00, B02, B04, B06, White Gel Pen, Shoes C5, C7, C9, Shadow W1, W3, W5, W7
  • Other Basic Backdrop Dies and Polka Dot Backdrop dies (AJVD), Stitched Ciecles (Simon Says Stamps) Fun Foam

Today’s card is for a Hope You Can Cling To challenge HYCCT1503 “I Am A Warrior”. It uses one of the Hambo Stamp’s images I have been waiting and waiting to use – For this challenge, create something that shows strength or inspiration. You could use Native American inspiration, something camo to represent our military heroes, any symbols that invoke strength and fierceness.

This challenge was a PERFECT opportunity to pull this image out and color it up (now I have to do it again soon because I adore it!) I had some Heroes in Pink digi paper that I thought would compliment this image so I printed the paper and used my Copic Hex Chart to match up the colors. I l-o-v-e it!Hambo Camo Bear copyRecipe:

  • Image: Camouflage Bear digi by Hambo Stamps
  • Sentiment: Hope Clear Set – Paper Smooches
  • Paper: White card (PTI) Chocolate and pink (Stash), DP (Digital paper – Heroes in Pink by Happy Hearts Studio)
  • Ink: Copics – YG17, YG45, G46, RV13, RV14, RV21, E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9
  • Other: Basic Backdrop and Polka Dot Backdrop dies (AJVD), Circle dies (Spellbinders), Wink of Stella, and Black Glaze pen

ALSO be sure to join the Hambo Stamps HOGtoberfest celebration! From now through October 31, 2015, mention code “HH40” when you order to receive 40% off your STAMP purchases. This applies to ALL of the stamps that we sell (rubber, clear & digi, including stamps already sale-priced). Please note that the discount does NOT apply to cling cushion, paper, or personal stamps that I’ve listed for sale, though these can be combined with your order of discounted stamps. We are in the process of closing the rubber portion of our store, so once the rubber designs sell out, they will no longer be available. Orders will be handled in the order in which they are received, so get your orders in fast to be sure you get the stamps that you want at this great price! (Use code “HH40” during check-out in our digi store for the discount to automatically apply to your purchase. If ordering rubber stamps or supplies, please mention the code in your emailed order.)

Happy Monday!! Another week has passed – time is flying isn’t is?! Today I am participating in a couple of challenges. Not only is it time for a new sketch at From the Heart Stamps, I was a top three at The Crazy Challenge and they allowed me to be a guest designer for today’s challenge. Their challenge is to use PURPLE, GREEN, and ORANGE. I combined that with the From the Heart Image Snowman Medley – I am trying to follow the sketch but it turned out to be a kind of loose take with some hand-stitched lines instead of paper…

Sketch122Additionally, I am playing along with another Hope You Can Cling to Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers – the challenge is to make a card representing your LEAST favorite weather condition. AND as I am a Southern girl with Southern blood, SNOW is my least favorite weather. What is your least favorite?FTHS Snowman copyRecipe:

  • Image: Snowman Medley by From the Heart Stamps
  • Paper: White card (PTI), black card (Recollections)
  • Ink: YR04, YR07, YR09, YG01, YG03, YG05, YG09, BV0000, BV01, BV02, V12, V15, V17, B0000, C0, C1, C5, C7, C9, RV25, E35, E37
  • Other: Rectangle Dies (Spellbinders), Snow Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Embroidery Floss, Craft Foam

hambohoedownbuttonIt’s the first Wednesday of the month – and it is time for a Hambo Hoedown! This Hoedown will last for the whole month of November (until November 2nd at midnight.)

The theme, in honor of the month of Thanksgiving is to create a THANK YOU card. You can use any company’s image for this challenge but if you have a Hambo image, why not use it?

I used a fun Hambo image called Strawberry Kid. I am in love with these Hambo kids. They are just too cute!

Hambo Thanks Berry Much

To go with my image, I created a CAS card with some “handmade background paper”. With stencils, gel medium, distress ink, alphabet stamp, embossing paste (handmade recipe at the bottom of the post) – everything but the kitchen sink!

This is my last card for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge. The challenge was to use embossing paste. WOW! What a month – I had a lot of catching up to do and it was some really late nights. But worth it!

Recipe:

  • Image – Strawberry Kid digi by Hambo Stamps
  • Paper – White card (PTI), Black card (Recollections) Handmade background on Water color paper
  • Ink – Copics for image: Strawberry – YG93, YG95, YG97, R21, R22, R24, Clothes – B93, B95, B97, B99, YG03, YG63, YG67, E40, E43, E44, E47, Skin – E00, E02, E11, E21, Shadow – W00, W1, W3, W5, stazon on for the letter, bundles sage distress paint, and festive berries distress ink,
  • Other – Basic Backdrop and Polka Dot Backdrop dies (A Jillian Vance Design), Circle Dies (Spellbinders), Stencil (Tim Holtz)

Recipe for embossing paste:

  • 1 Tbs glue
  • 1 Tbs Acrylic Paint
  • 1/4 cup Talc
  • A little water as needed to make it the consistency of toothpaste

Challenges:

  • Scrap it Girl – NOVEMBER CHALLENGE! Using Paints
  • Dies R Us – Challenge #13 – Thankful
  • The Crafter’s Cafe – Challenge #89 – Thank You

Thanks for stopping by!
