Tiddly Inks Challenge – Gel Shaker

03 Tuesday Jul 2018

Summer time, summer time, sum sum summer time!! It is definitely time to go out and swim and soak up the sun!!

It is time for a new challenge at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and it is an Anything Goes Challenge. I have been wanting to create a “water shaker” for so long and when I saw the Tiddly Inks Wryn – Just Keep Swimming image, I knew the time was now! I mean doesn’t she look like she should be underwater? I used THIS tutorial to create my shaker element but based on other videos I had seen, I used hair gel instead of water because it leaves the perfect amount of “bubbles” behind which work perfect with a snorkel.

I colored her up with Copics and used some star glitter shapes and Dollar Store hair gel. I decided to go simple with the outside since the focus was on the interactive element – the gel “shaker” (that I keep playing with :)) It was VERY hard to put the gel element on top of my sweetly colored image but the results are too fun -I am so happy to have tried this technique!

I hope you like it and are inspired to join the challenge this week at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!!

It is time for another challenge at Bugaboo Stamp’s… The theme this week is a “BINGO” challenge.

I went with the right column for my card. I am so excited to get to use this stamp set –  Birthday Unicorn Set 02 it is soooo cute! You can’t see it in this pic, but I glittered up the mane and balloon so it it sparkles just like magic!

I colored up the image with Copics, an then grabbed buttons and Washi tape from a huge stash of both…

I hope this one inspires you to get into your stash and make something fabulous! Hop over to Catch the Bug and join the challenge!

Bugaboo Stamps Saturday Challenge – Make a Splash!

09 Saturday Jun 2018

Today I have another project for Bugaboo Stamp’s Saturday Challenge… The theme  this week is “Make a Splash” so I decided to create a Distress Ink “splashy – watery” background. With my Copics, I colored up the fish from the Under The Sea Birthday Set which I fussy cut and popped up on the card with fun foam. I cut out the sentiment from the set and doodled around it so it would pop. And that is all there is to this one – simple but awesome! I love it!

I hope this one inspires you to get inky! Hop over to Catch the Bug and join the challenge!

Tiddly Inks Fun! Color Challenge

05 Tuesday Jun 2018

Hi All – so this may be one of my busiest months in a LONG time. But it has been so much fun playing with so many new images. This month and next I will get the awesome opportunity to be a guest designer at Tiddly Inks. These images are just so adorable!

For my first card, I am playing along with this week’s challenge – a color challenge. You know these are my weak point and this is the second one this month…hmmm, I am being tested to work on my weaknesses huh 🙂

This is such a pretty, beachy image but I decided to go in a different direction for the image when I saw this little giraffe. He is so sweet I just couldn’t resist.

I colored the Giraffe with Copics and used some complimentary digital designer papers to create my background. The colors are a little darker but they are pretty close aren’t they?

I hope you like it and are inspired to join the challenge this week at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Bugaboo Stamps has a new release today. It is called Flower Butterfly Corner and it is beautiful!

I put the image in one corner of my card and then added it again (flipped) into the opposite corner. I typed the sentiment into the center. It is simple but I think it is so pretty.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

I have another exciting set of cards to share today because I just couldn’t make one card when I saw the new stamps that Korin created for this year’s SNSS Birthday celebration. They are fantastic and perfect for the CAS set I had in mind.

Best of all – you can get these free! This week’s (November 18th-24th) birthday surprise is a FREE Exclusive Stamp with purchase. THESE STAMPS! Customers will receive 1 of the 4 designs for every $25 they spend. (1 for $25, 2 for $50, 3 for $75 and all 4 for $100). Visit the SNSS BLOG to check out the deals!

I used Inside & Out Stitched Round Rectangle Dies from My favorite things to cut out my top panels (for the inside stitching). Then I ran the same die though with an embossing mat on the card base. I popped the panels up on fun foam and placed them inside the embossing which allows the outside stiching to show. I rounded the corners of my cards to funish them off. I used Copics for my coloring and a white gel pen to add some finishing touches.

My mom has already asked for these for her birthday (I WIN!)

Here they are individually…

We start with Anchor:

Then Leave (I doodled this one and I love, love, love the outcome!):

Then Grace:

Then Banner:

Today I am playing along with a challenge at Splitcoast Stampers TLC612 ~ Sentiment Backgrounds. It requires that you repeat a sentiment in the background and mask off an image on top.

It actually turned out great – It may be my Christmas cards this year!

snss-seasonal-wreaths-christmas-copy

I decided to go with the Christmas wreath in Sweet N Sassy’s Seasonal Wreath Set.

I used my MISTI to keep the sentiments lined up. Using Balck Onyx by Versafine and Wild Wasabi Ink by Stamping ‘Up. I masked the wreath before I stamped my sentiment and then colored it up with Copics (YG03, YG63, YG67, R24, R29)

As part of SNSS Birthday month, for this week’s birthday deal, this stamp set and ALL other Christmas and Fall images are 20% off.

SNSS – Joy to the World!

12 Saturday Nov 2016

I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been ready for Christmas. As soon as Halloween was over, Christmas decorations and music started popping up and I fought it for a while. But then Hallmark Channel started doing their Countdown to Christmas movies and well… I won’t lie, Christmas movies can get me in the mood even when music can not! I sat down and watched a few Christmas movies and made some precious Christmas tags, AND I wrapped a Christmas present so I must admit that I’m feeling pretty good right now!

For my tags I used The Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamp Set Joy to the World.

sns_15_025joytotheworld__34983-1441936104-1280-1280

I can’t wait to play with all of the pieces, but for my tags I went with the JOY image. It fit perfectly on the tag and looks adorable on the package. I made a few tags and used different colors so I could match them up to my Christmas papers (That is hard to do with packaged tags – don’t you think?) I used Koi watercolor this time (the first time I have used it) and it was pretty fun.

You and Me – Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps

I am so excited to have been asked to be a guest designer for Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps for the next two months.

This month, as a special treat, Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps is celebrating 9 years and they are giving gifts to all of us!! Visit the SNSS BLOG to check out the deals! This week November 4th-10th, Free surprise “goodie bag” with $25 purchase! (goodie bag will be at least a $5 value and will include a mix of various items for paper crafting and/or Bible journaling)

For my first project – I went with a clean and simple design and created a fun set of cards using a cute SNSS set called You and Me. I know that Christmas is in the air but we can make gifts that allow us to be in the spirit and play with all our toys right??

snss-you-and-me-x4-copy

I used a stitched circle set and fun foam to create dimension and colored all of my images with Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Pens for a subtle watercolor look. I finished off the cards with two of the sentiments that came with the set. Simple – Yes?

These cards make me so happy I can’t tell you!! It is actually pretty fun to make a set. With just a little more time, I got 4 cards for the same amount of time I usually make one. Yeehaw and Oh Yeah! And did I mention a Christmas gift (after I add a cute pen and some stamps) is checked off the list (SCORE!)

For a closer look at the cuteness, here they are individually .

We start with Salt and Pepper:snss-you-and-me-salt-and-pepper-copy

Then Milk and Cookies:

Then Peas and Carrots:

snss-you-and-me-peas-and-carrots-copy

Then Coffee and Donuts:

snss-you-and-me-donuts-and-coffee-copy

Are you smiling out loud right now, because I am!!

Peanut Butter and Jelly is coming later this month when I figure out a way to make the card as awesome as the stamp is!!

Don’t forget to join in on the Birthday fun at the SNSS BLOG this month!

Have a great one and thanks for stopping by!
