LS Mayde Laundy Tag 2 OK – the Lacy Sunshine Facebook challenge this time is to use one of Heather’s new Mayde images. They are all so precious that is was hard to choose which one to play with on this challenge so I chose more than one. This is the first one – “Mayde Laundry Day”.LS Mayde Laundy Tag 6 I thought it would be fun to create a Mother’s day coupon book. With coupons for a variety of things starting with chores. This first one is a coupon or a load of Laundry (haha!)

LS Mayde Laundy Tag 4

I used a tutorial to create a double pocket card but tweaked it a bit to turn it into pockets on both sides (one on one side and two on the other.) Eventually, I will create a cover and attached them all into a coupon “booklet” of sorts. But here is the first look…Notice the three pockets for the 3 Maydes. Oh Yeah! I love it when a plan comes together! I think this is going out sooo cute!

Bashful Boo, I Love You!

I have had a crazy couple of weeks and I didn’t think I would get to play with the Light vs. Dark Challenge at the Lacy Sunshine Facebook Page, but it was extended until tonight so, YAY! I get to participate! The challenge was to use an image to represent the light or the dark… Using Curiosities(dark) or Boos(light) – I had a Boo printed that never got colored up so I went with it. Lil’ Boo’s XOXO

Lacy Sunshine Lil Boo xoxo

I originally intended this little gal for a Valentine, but I colored it up hot pink and purple and figure it will be a great little “Just cause I love you!” card.

Since I wanted to play with a new border die cut I got from Papertrey Ink, I decided to keep it pretty simple. A little embossing, the border and the sweetest little digi! For fun, I added Wink of Stella to the X’s and O’s for a little sparkle. (Can you see it?)

  • Image  Lil’ Boo’s XOXO digi by Lacy Sunshine

Remember…

I decided to participate in another fun FaceBook Challenge at Lacy Sunshine and it was truly a C-H-A-L-L-E-N-G-E (to use one of Heather’s Melancholy Moppets.) These little guys are not my usual bright, whimsical images and they SCARED me. However, I got a pep talk and some insight and then I sucked it up, and expanded my horizons 🙂 )

My card today uses Anastasia with Poppies. She looks so sad and thoughtful – like she is remembering something sad from her past. Since poppies often represent remembrance, I thought that a simple one word sentiment would be appropriate – “Remember”

Lacy Sunshine Anastasia Poppy

I kept my colors soft and subtle. Warm Greys with some touches of red and green. While she scared me, I now love her more for the challenge…

Card recipe:

  • Image: Anastasia with Poppies dig by Lacy Sunshine
  • Paper: Rustic White card base (PTI), DP “Tie the Knot” (Making Memories)
  • Ink: Fired Brick Distress Marker (sentiment);  Copics: Clothes – W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, W9; Poppies/Sash – R22, R24, R29, R39; Skin – E00, E11, E21; Eyes/Grass/Feather – YG03, YG61, YG63, YG67; Hair – E33, E35, E37, E39; Shadow – BG0000
  • Other: Basic Backdrop, Polka Dot Backdrop dies (a jillian vance design) Banner/star banner dies (PTI), Oval and Scalloped Oval dies (Spellbinders), ribbon, label and window punches (Stampin’ Up)

Thanks for stopping by!

OK – Here’s another post for today…

Lacy Sunshine is having another contest on their Facebook page. Heather gave Violet for free for a short time and then we were set free. I actually had Sunny Sunflower as well, so I decided to make 2 cards…

The first one is a CAS card using Violet and as I am trying to continue improving my technique, I used the Color Creative Classroom Backgrounds – Marbleization. Practice makes perfect right?

Lacy Sunshine Violet

Lacy Sunshine Buttons!

01 Saturday Feb 2014

OK – I know that today’s card is bright, bright! But it is for fun so I had fun with it.

I decided to play along with a challenge at the Lacy Sunshine’s Facebook page. We were given Lil Frolic Where’s The Buttons to be inspired by. I went way outside my norm and decided to try out pink hair and crazy bright, fun colors.

Lacy Sunshine Buttons

We had to add at least one button to the project. I added three on the side (from a set I recently picked up at Michael’s) then added one onto the image where a button was drawn (Papertrey Ink Raspberry fizz). My Designer paper is from American crafts and the base is a piece of blue I had.

Ink: Copics – B0000, B000, B00, B01, B02, B04, B05, E00, E02, E11, E21, R32, R35, RV02, RV04, RV06, YG00, YG01, YG03, YG63, Y32, Y35, Y38, W5

Overall, it is a pretty simple card, but I love it!

Other challenges for this card:

  • Graph’It Colour Challenge – Anything Goes /Different Coloured Hair
  • Penny’s Paper-Crafty – #161 Spots & Dots
  • My Craft Spot – Polka Dots

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Find Joy Everyday!

27 Monday May 2013

Lacy SunflowerHappy Memorial Day! Just a quick post today – so thankful for the freedoms we have been given and for those who put their lives out there to protect those freedoms for us.

I have had this card for a while but have been waiting for a Lacy Sunshine Challenge that she fit. This week is Anything Goes so I don’t think it will get better than that… Here is Sunny – a “flower-pot pretty” by Heather at Lacy Sunshine – is she not precious!!

I used a cute sketch from Delightful Inspiration, then I colored her up with Copics, used PTI cardstock for the base and Stampin’ Up DP for the background. I added a few touches of sewing, and topped it off with a button from PTI and a freebie sentiment from Torico at Birdie Brown – Find Joy Everyday! Such a great aspiration!!

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:

  • Created with Love Challenge-  #43 You lift me up (at least 3 layers – got it!)
  • Challenges for Everybody – #21 Anything Goes

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
