Bugaboo Sketch Challenge – Birthday Cupcake

04 Sunday Jul 2021

Today we have another Stella Says Sketch Challenge. This month it will be month long.

My project features Scarlette Cupcake – she is so fancy in her long gloves and high heel shoes. I love her!

I just went with it on this one. There wasn’t a whole lot of planning. I cut my image with the banner die before I colored it and when I cut off the flame, I almost started over, but then remembered an awesome yellow flame shaped gem I had in my stash so I just kept moving ahead. I colored her up and then found the cardstocks to match her. I used a piece of washi to look like the top of the sketch and then I took a little liberty with my sentiment placement. I hope everyone will be ok with that because this card was so much fun – it makes me happy! 🙂

I hope you are inspired to join in the sketch challenge with us and have fun!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Bugaboo – Stella Says Sketch

Today starts a new Stella Says Sketch at Catch the Bug. It is simple and fun!

I pulled out some of my stash pieces of papers (already started on a card) that had some great color combos, and had so much fun coloring my image – Butterfly Bear 4 to match the paper rather than coloring the image and finding papers to match… So much easier this way! I used Copics.

I hope you are inspired to join in the sketch challenge with us and have fun!!

Thanks for stopping by!

It is DAY 2 of the annual Christmas in July week long event at Bugaboo Stamps/Catch the Bug! Today we have a sketch challenge to play with…
For my card, I dug deep into my stash for some Christmas patterned paper. I really don’t use a lot of that anymore for some reason – but I love the fun look for sure! I used Copics to colord up Santa Clause Peeker for my focal image then added glitter on the “fur” areas and that is all there is to this one. I really like it!
I hope you are inspired to join in the fun. There are lots of prizes to win!! You will have til midnight on Sunday, July 26 to get your projects entered to be considered for the prizes!
Thanks for stopping by!

For today’s sketch challenge at SplitCoast Stampers SC764(HERE) I had so much fun digging through my scraps. I have a big pile of scrap background paper(handmade) from various projects – where I just couldn’t throw it away even if it was just a strip. When a project like this comes along, I am like “A HA! – this is why I keep them!!” It makes me so happy to be right haha!!

I even had an adorable Tiddly Inks image called Lily Bean – Cup of Love already printed and half colored on my desk, AND it matched up – it was so meant to be, don’t cha think?

I am going to enter it in the Challenge #228….Anything TIDDLY INKS goes….

PS and by the way, this image is on sale at Tiddly Inks for $1 – YES only $1!

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

SNSS – Birthday Card and a Sketch Challenge

18 Thursday Apr 2019

Posted by Lyn T in CAS, Sketch, SplitCoastStamper, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Techniques, Watercolor

Hi Friends! Today I am starting a series of projects using the new Delightful Daisies set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. The images in this set are so fun and the opportunities for use are unlimited – I am going to show you lots of fun stuff this week!

For my first project, I am playing along with the Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast Stampser (SC745).

I thought would try my hand at messy (outside the lines) water coloring and cutting out the spots from the sketch and popping them up (kind of like the eclipse technique) I think it turned out super fun!!

Recipe :

  • Watercolor paper – Tim Holtz Water Color Card Stock
  • Image – Delightful Daisies
  • Sentiment – Happy Birthday Set (This is retired now but you can still get it in digital format) Happy Birthday DIGI
  • Ink – Stamped image with Archival Jet Black smooshed Distress inks for the background. Colors were – Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry for the flower, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the stem and grass, and Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the sky. When that was dry, I went in and added some shading with Inktense pencils.
  • I used Simon Says Stamps stitched circle dies for my take on the sketch. I mounted those on fun foam for dimension. Mounted the watercolor panel on Raspberry Fizz and then White Card (Papertrey Ink). Add a few sequins finish my card.

I hope you are inspired today. Thanks for stopping by!
