It is Wednesday and that means that it is time for a new Hambo Hoedown!! Come on over and join in the fun this week with a new digi called “Fish Hooks” – which was free to those that participated in last week’s Hoedown!
The challenge this week… ANYTHING BUT A CARD.
After deciding to make a gift tag for this challenge, I pulled out an old technique to create a water-like background. I created a card last year with this technique – See the details HERE.
I used some punches (the label and circles) to create the tab part of the tag, and then “looped” a piece of recycled ribbon through it. I tied it off with some twine instead of tieing it in a bow – that’s the rule at this week’s Splitcoast Stamper’s Challenge TLC426 Scrappy and Loopy.
To complete the scene, I used a piece of bamboo skewer and some nylon thread to create a fishing pole to hang my hook/worm from. I also added a few fish from another Hambo stamp set called Snorkel Boy and the sentiment “Worm Wishes”. VOILA! It is ready to top off my gift.
Other challenges for this card:
- Tuesday Throwdown – #144 Make your own background
- Three Scrappy Gals – April is Earthy (Well it is an “earth” worm and I used recycled ribbon from a package I received for my bday last year.)
- Simon Says Stamp – Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by!!
Lyn
P.S. On Friday, May 24, Hambo will be having a customer inclusive blog hop. The theme is “THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS” where we will be showcasing Hambo clear, rubber and digi images. Using any Hambo image, create a project that represents and depicts the name of a (professional) band! Maybe it’s your favorite group, or maybe it’s one that you don’t even like! Whatever it is, we want to see your BAND NAME creations! You do not need to have the Band name on your card or project, but please put it in your post.
