SNSS – TLC Challenge… Paint Swiping

Today it is my turn to host the Technique Lover’s Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I found a tutorial from the SplitCoast offerings that I had not tried before and it looked really fun. It is called Paint Swiping. I had acrylic paints on my desk from a previous project so it was perfect!

I am currently in love with the Lots of Love stamp set from Sweet N Sassy so I colored up the kitty with my Copics to add to my fun background. I used a sentiment from the Love Wordfetti set.

In the end, the technique was really quick and easy and I think the look is awesome! I can see some more of this in my future!

Recipe:

  • Image from Sweet N Sassy Stamps – Lots of Love
  • Sentiment from Sweet N Sassy Stamps – Love Wordfett
  • Cardstock – Black (Recollections), White (PTI), Main panel Bristol Smooth (Strathmore)
  • Paint – Dylusions Rose Quartz, Funky Fushia, Black Marble
  • Copics – Warm Greys, RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29
  • Archival Ink
  • Stencil – TIm Holtz Faded Dots(?)
  • Modeling Paste from the Crafter’s Workshop

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to try this technique and I would love to see you join in the challenge at Splitcoast!

SNSS – My Sweet Valentines

I am just beginning my Valentine making month – I am not sure when I started this but I think I am a better Valentine sender than Christmas card sender. I send them to all my kiddos (and my mamaw haha) so they can get happy mail.

Today’s cards feature the brand new LOTS OF LOVE stamp from Sweet N Sassy. These stamp images are so sweet and so adorable! I have them all colored up on my desk just needing to be fussy cut and put on  a card. Every time I look at one, I think it is my favorite and then I look at another and think it is my favorite. I just can’t decide! Can they all be my favorite?

My First card is a clean and simple card. Since I love CAS but sometimes fear all the white spaces, I decided to cheat and use a Valentine embossing folder on the background. Then I fussy cut the kitty (colored with polychromos colored pencils) popped it on the panel with some fun foam and rounded the corners for a finishing touch. Easy Peasy!

SNSS Lots of Love 1 copy

My second today uses the Pig (I think this is really my favorite. 🙂  For this card, I used some fun designer paper for the background. That’s twice this week I have used designer paper – if only the stash would dwindle (sigh))! I fussy cut and adhered the pig (colored with Copics) onto the corner – going for the bottom third look… I added a sentiment from the oh-so-awesome LOVE WORDFETTI set. For the finishing touch on this card, I used 2 warm grays shades and created shadows for the piggy on the DP. This is a simple step that really adds to the look I think.

Well, I hope you are inspired today!

This month’s release is AMAZING AND LOVELY :)! I am featuring Love Wordfetti today with some fun backgrounds to compliment my wordfetti.

I used an embossing folder and some distress inks on watercolor paper for my first card then popped two sentiments up and, as simple as that, I have a super fun Valentine!

For my second card I actually used some of my ginormous stash of patterned paper and my sewing machine to create a little panel to back-set a “Love” die (stacked 3 times) and a complimentary wordfetti sentiment.

2 Valentine’s down many more to go!!

SNSS Baby It’s Cold Outside!

Today I have three cards to share with you. I decided to use up backgrounds I found on my desk from last month’s fun with Folk Art Snowflakes and Snow Much Fun. Then I inked up and Copic colored all of the adorable critters from this month’s Winter Hugs Clear Stamp Set. I also used the sentiments from this set as they were so perfect for my cards.

For my first card, the background was from when I practiced some ink blending with Distress Oxides (Shaded Lilac, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot).

For my next two cards, I created some dimensional hills with a stitched border die from Mama Elephant.

For these backgrounds, I used Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxides.

For this last card, I also added some background trees using the Thrill of Hope Set – I love this silhouette set! I added some snowflake buttons to finish my card.

This was super fun and these critters make me so happy!! Aren’t these polar bears so so so cute!

This month’s release has some A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E offerings! I am featuring Happy Camper and have a few projects for your inspiration. I have been using a lot of watercolor paper lately and so found myself with some scraps sitting on my desk that were a little too small for a full card so I decided to pull out some small tag dies and make some tags and also make a set of mini cards (2.5″X 3 7/8″). And…while I was at it, I made an A2 size card too 🙂

The first is the A2 card. As I often do, I went with a CAS mini scene using the step, welcome mat, and flamingo with the camper. That flamingo makes me smile out loud!

For my mini cards, I rounded the bottom corners and stamped one of the fun yard elements on each and added a simple sentiment from Sentimental Wordfetti. I also have some matching mini envelopes (2.75″X 4 1/8″). I have been told these can be mailed through the post office. If you want to test it, email me your address and I will send the first four people one of them. Of course you have to let me know when it arrives 🙂

Here is the set:Here they are up close:

For my tags, I used a small tag die, added the Christmas tree from the set and sentiment came from Christmas Wordfetti

Even though these are on water color paper they are all colored with Copic markers.

NOW head over to see what Sheri has created for you!!

SNSS – To God Be The Glory

Today I am playing with the December Stamp of the Month: Sympathy Morning Glories Clear Stamp Set. I have two projects for your inspiration. I wanted to show the versatility of this set so I tried for a more somber card with color pencils and a brighter Bible journal card with water color

The card is on Neenah Dessert Storm cardstock with Polychromos color pencils – I just love this look – the color pencils just jump off the page!

The Bible Journal card on Canson XL watercolor paper using Arteza Watercolor pencils and Distress Inks and a white gel pen to brighten up the centers:

I also added two of the sentiments from Faith Wordfetti and then I “smooshed” some Distress ink on the page with Philippians 4:20: To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

It all just seemed perfect to me. What do you think?

These were fun to create and I loved trying out different inks on them! I hope you are inspired.

Happy Wednesday All!

Today is Humor me Wednesday at Catch the Bug and to Cocoa and Gingerbread House day (on the 12th) , I created a fun oversize tag using Gingerbread Wishes Set. It just makes me smile and it is much brighter in real life –  I can’t wait to put it on a package!

I used  a tag die from My Favorite Things and colored the image with Copics. I added coordinating twine and voila!

I hope you were inspired today! Thanks for stopping by!
