Hop Order:

This month we have a lot of fall sets that work perfectly together. Like combined, they are one big set haha! I am featuring the Fall In Love With Jesus set this month.

I have created three projects for your inspiration today…

The first card is clean and simple and uses the small elements in the set to create a collection of stamps (these could have come straight from the post office don’t you think?) My sentiment came from Sentimental Wordfetti. My second project uses the bigger (small) leaf stem and the berries to create a loose watercolor wreath. I used a sentiment from the new Grateful Heart set which is this month’s stamp of the month – free to you with a $75 purchase. The sentiments are especially wonderful in this one!

My final project is a Bible Journal card for my Mini Bible.

  • I used Canson Water color paper and Distress Inks for all of my projects

My blog is the end of the hop! I hop you had fun and are inspired to create today! And if you get the opportunity to craft with some of these great stamps (or any other SNSS stamp) we would love to see what you create on our SNSS VIP Group Facebook Page; Or tag your creations with #snss or #sweetnsassystamps on Instagram.

Watercolor Splotches

Hi Friends! It is my turn for the Splitcoast Technique Lover’s Challenge. I found a fun little watercolor technique. It reminds my of the rorschach test – what do you see in the watercolor splotch haha! You may see birds, trees, flowers, etc… Whatever you see in the splotch, just grab your outline pen (I used a Copic Multiliner) and go with it!!

I used Distress Oxides today and my images are super muted. If you want a more vibrant image, you could use Distress Inks, or any other water base ink, or water colors. My sentiments are from the Sweet N Sassy Sentimental Wordfetti set – This is a go to fun simple sentiments!

I hope you are inspired to play along with the challenge! I can’t wait to see what you create with your splotches.

Thanks for stopping by!

Adore Him!

I am not sure about you guys but Christmas stuff is popping up everywhere around me – It is 93 degrees here in Georgia so it is a little hard to get into the Christmas spirit, but this new set from Sweet N Sassy surely has done it! It is called Adore Him. It is so precious. It has so many different elements in the Christmas Story that I have lots of ideas running through my mind.

Today’s images were colored with Polychromos pencils. They take a little while to build up the color, but the end result is great!

My first card uses Distress Oxides to create a night time sky.  I used Wood Backgrounds to create “wood pieces” for the “manger” and the colored the baby , fussy cut it, and popped it up on fun foam. I used the sentiment from an older set called Peace on Earth (retired) And that is all there is too this one – clean and simple but not really, right?

SNSS OCome copy

My second card uses The Three Wise Men. This one is very  clean and simple. I colored them, fussy cut them, and glued them onto a white card. I rounded the corners for a little added interest. For this one, I used a sentiment from We Three Kings – I love this sentiment!

These were so much fun! I hope you are inspired to get your Christmas cards started. It will actually be here before you know it!

I have created a mini card for you inspiration (3.75″x2.5″). It uses today’s sketch at Splitcoast Stampers.

Inside – this is the fun part!

  • I used Neenah Solar White paper for my card
  • I used a mini kraft envelope I found HERE
  • I created my stripes with washi tape and colored my donut with Distress inks on a scrap of water color paper.
  • The sentiment is inked with Versafine

Now it is time to hop on and see what the incredibly talented Sheri Gilson has for you!

TLC760 Stencil Smooshing

For today’s Splitcoast Stamper’s Technique Lover’s Challenge TLC760, I have a super fun background (I know you are surprised about that huh 🙂 )

A similar technique was done a few years ago HERE to create a monoprint. However, while the idea is similar, this time we want to use a few stencils (3-4) together to create a background to build our card on… This is very similar to the ink smooshing technique; however, instead of smooshing the ink onto acetate, you will smoosh it on a stencil. Spritz it 3-4 times then “smoosh” it onto your watercolor paper in a few places. Repeat with other colors and stencils for a cool background piece.

I used Distress oxides but regular Distress Inks or other water based inks would work too. After I finished my background, I decided to create a simple, masculine birthday card. I never have those when I need them! The sentiment came from SNSS Llama Love set.

The inspiration from this card came from HERE.

I hope you are inspired and will join in on this challenge!

SNSS – Deck the Halls!

Today I have some super fun projects using the new Deck the Halls set from Sweet n Sassy! During the September “new stamp” reveal on the SNSS VIP Facebook Page (join if you haven’t already – it is lots of fun!), we were all talking about how one of the ornaments looked liked a hot air balloon and another looked like a light bulb…

In the hopes of inspiring you to look at your stamps in different ways, I have colored this one up and used it in ways other than the standard one. I hope you like them!

The first two cards are at least Christmas themed (haha!) For these, I used the ornament as an “O” in the word JOY. It is a fun way to use Alphas in combination with images. The Alphas for this one are from the Shake It Off Alphas set. I used Distress Oxides to color these.

The second card uses the argyle ornament. I flipped it over and masked the circle hanger. I drew a basket in with a Copic Multiliner and colored everything with Copics. I added a sentiment from the Inspirational Word Art set (on sale this month!)

Finally, I created two project with the plain ornament turned over with the circle hanger masked off and the bottom of a light bulb hand drawn in with a Copic Multiliner.

The first project is a CAS card with lots of sparkle and shine (via Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents). The sentiment is from the Be Unique set (perfect isn’t it!)

The second one is a journaling card for my compact Bible. I used Texture Tiles 1 on the card’s background then I cut out the bulb and pasted in on and added the sentiment (sorry! this sentiment came from an old set called Shining Light)

I hope you are looking at all your sets in new ways – it makes them new again which is a win in my book! I can’t wait to see what you do with these ornaments!

Thanks for stopping by! Hop over to the store to check out the Sweet and Sentimental Sale!

SNSS Alphas Bonanza

Hope you are having a great long weekend if you are in the US! I started this weekend with some Live fun on the Sweet N Sassy VIP FaceBook page. I shared some fun card ideas using Sweet N Sassy Alphas then I spent the rest of the weekend having fun with the cards I set up and/or inked up that night. These were so much fun! Before I took everything off my MISTI, I inked up more cards for future coloring haha!

Soooo. Here we go! This is pretty long so if you need to get a cup of tea or coffee, I can wait 🙂

First I shared a fun stacked word idea – we brainstormed words like Celebrate, Thank You, Merry (to be combined with Christmas), Happy (to be combined with Birthday), and Baby (to be combined with Welcome). I created cards with a few of these ideas.

The first three use IN STITCHES ALPHAI inked up the words with Gina K Amalgam Ink.(I inked the background and colored the letters with Distress Inks)

(Colored the letters with Copics – added sentiment from SO THANKFUL)

(Colored the letters Colored Pencils)

(Colored the letters with Copics)

(Colored the letters with Copics – added gifts and sentiment from ALL WRAPPED UP)

This next one was a suggestion from Kay Chennault. It uses OUTLINE ALPHAS, BITTY MINNIE ALPHA, and gifts from ALL WRAPPED UP. All colored with Distress Oxides.Second, I created a fun, punny card used the whole SKINNY MINNIE ALPHA set and using BITTY MINNIE ALPHA to create the sentiment inside the card. I used a heart from FOREVER and ALWAYS

Third, I created a couple if tags with SHAKE IT OFF CAPS ALPHA. I used SENTIMENTAL WORDFETTI, and STAND TALL(discontinued) for the complimentary sentiments and the party hat came from BIRTHDAY PALS (discontinued).

A quick little mini cad – using CLASSY SCRIPT APLHAFOREVER and ALWAYS, SENTIMENTAL WORDFETTI (Forever stamps need to be marked right?)FINALLY, I used some foam squares die cut with Spellbinders to create some color blocks with Distress Oxides. I used SKINNY CAPS ALPHA then I completed my sentiments using “you” from BE UNIQUE,  and other sentiments from BITTY MINNIE ALPHA, and SENTIMENTAL WORDFETTI.

I have one more sample but it uses a new set so I think I will make that another post later on. This is plenty for now I think – what about you? Whew!!
