First I set up a Word document and added my images in as many rows and columns as I could fit (they are approximately 1.4″ x 1″.) I thought it would fun to just fill up the page using the left side of the image (what they are peeking from) as a guide for the place the “TO” and “FROM” would be written once placed on a freshly wrapped Christmas image.
I did so really quick coloring using colored pencils. I really had to keep myself from spending too much time with shading and perfection. These are tags and they will be ripped off and tossed. I did use a couple of pencil shades for each color to give it a little depth but again – quick!!
I the used a die cut to cut out little rectangles but you could easily cut them with your paper trimmer too. I just loved the little stitch lines and wanted to dress my tags up a little and it didn’t take too too long (sometimes I just can’t help myself haha!) In an hour of television I had a batch of tags – I am pretty happy about that – hopefully I don’t forget where they are come December (sigh).
Here are close ups:
I hope you are inspired to make some tags too. Bugaboo has so many cute Christmas images that are perfect for a project like this!
Thanks for stopping by!
