This weekend I finally got a chance to play with some of the new stamps released this month at Sweet N Sassy Stamps. It seems crazy to create Christmas cards in September but it was sooo much fun!

Today’s cards use Christmas Word Art. I created two pretty different looks using Distress Inks for the backgrounds.

For the first card, I did a smoosh background then embossed my sentiment/word art on vellum. I decided to run the vellum panel through my Xyron machine – this allowed me to adhere the vellum to the colored piece WITHOUT seeing the adhesive (which makes me pretty happy).

The color of my embossing powder was not my favorite choice so I used some Nuvo Drops to add color to the “art” part of the sentiment to spice it up a bit which resulted in a somewhat non traditional Christmas look.My second card is a FUN Christmas Eve scene. I used a circle mask for the moon then distress inks for the night sky with white pearl watercolor splatters to create stars. The pine tree line is from the Landscape Silhouette Set (I totally love this set!!) Then the final and MOST AWESOME element… I added the silhouette of Santa and his sleigh across the moon (this is a separate stamp that is also in the word art set – squeeee!! I Love it!)

I hope you are inspired! It is never to early to stock up on your Christmas cards – up two for me. Woo Hoo!

Thanks for stopping by!
