Hambo Bird EggThis week’s Hambo Hoedown (#110) is a great one – grab out your FEATHERS and join in the fun!

The image this week – which was free to those that participated last week (using any Hambo image), is called “Bird Egg”.

So, I was searching high and low for feathers but I didn’t want a huge pile of them, when I stumbled upon a boa that I got at a bachelorette party a long time ago! Don’t worry, the boa is still fully operational. It just donated a tiny little piece from the middle. It is nice to know that I used the boa again because I definitely won’t wear the dress again (haha – just a joke – not really…)

Ever start a card but have no idea which direction it is going to go in? If you raised your hand, then you know how I was with this one!

For this little guy since I had a choice of a black or red feather (thanks to my boa), I decided to go a little bold with my bird. I pulled out my red copics (R22, R24, R27, R29) and my pure poppy cardstock from Papertrey ink. To give it some movement, I used a couple of dot/spot embossing folders. I mounted everything in true black (PTI) added a black button(Doodlebug Designs), my black feather, and some rhinestones (Simon Says Stamp) to balance it out.

While it was not exactly the picture I had in mind when I started the adventure, it turned out ok I think…

Challenges I am entering this card into:

  • Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #215 – Around the House (exactly where I found that boa laying… :~)
  • Papertake Weekly – Bingo! (I used the center across – Diecut, Free, Buttons)
  • Tammy’s Scrapin Corner #57 – Recipe – 1 image (bird), 2 Die Cuts (rectangle and deckled rectangle Spellbinders) 3 embellishments (not including embossing, I have a button, a feather, and some rhinestones…whew!)
  • Glitter and Sparkle Challenge – Buttons

Thanks for stopping by!
